Art Therapy: A Healing Superpower for Kids

At Read With Me Club, we’ve always believed in the power of storytelling and that includes stories told without words. This week, we officially launched our new “100 Artists” Drawing Program, designed to help children express their emotions, grow their confidence, and feel seen through art therapy.

Whether a child is navigating anxiety, autism, or simply big emotions, they deserve a creative, safe space to be themselves. That’s what we’re here for.

Why Creativity Works: The Science Behind the Smiles

You might think of drawing and painting as just fun activities—but research says otherwise. Art helps children:

Reduce stress and anxiety

Improve focus and emotional regulation

Strengthen communication, even without words

Feel empowered through self-expression

It activates both the logical and emotional parts of the brain, which makes it especially helpful for neurodivergent learners. When guided with intention, art becomes therapy.

Inside Our New “100 Artists” Drawing Program

The 100 Artists Program is more than a coloring class. It’s a CBT-informed initiative that supports social-emotional learning through drawing.

Each session includes:

A therapeutic art prompt

A clear emotional or mindset theme

Guided reflection questions

A share-your-story invitation (optional)

This week, we started with “Draw Your Safe Space”—and the results were powerful. From treehouses to spaceships, each child created a visual story of comfort, courage, and calm.

Led by Super Mom: CBT-Informed Support That Works

The program is designed and led by Super MomSuper Mom, a certified cognitive behavioral therapist and autism mom, who blends therapy, education, and fun into every session.

Her approach ensures that kids not only express themselves, but learn tools to manage tough emotions, boost self-esteem, and build connection. Whether your child has autism, anxiety, or is just going through big changes, they’ll feel safe and celebrated here.

Final Thoughts: Every Child Deserves to Be Seen
